a. I lead bicycle trips for teenagers with Student Hosteling Program a few years ago. I did a month in Vermont, a month in Quebec, and a month from Amsterdam to Paris. We carried all of our gear on our bikes and set up camp each night. It was amazing.

b. I have a big fat orange cat named Penelope (a.k.a Fatty, La La, Mrow Mrow, Stinkers, Lodi, Pumpkin Head, and Nani)

c. My left pinkie toe kinda rests on the top of my foot.. and I can't move it without using my hand.

d. My mom is one of twenty children. I've got lot's of aunts, uncles, and cousins.. I love it!

e. My first official photography job was during college, assisting Tommy Thompson on photo shoots of plastics factories and nuclear power plants.

f. I waitressed at The Plaza before it closed for renovations.

g. I'm addicted to coffee, gatorade, coke, and snapple. I basically drink more calories than I eat.

Last week was unbelievable. I spent the first half traveling from Portland Oregon along Pacific Northwest Coast, through the redwood forest, then over into Lake Tahoe, through Death Valley, and finally landed in Vegas for the 2008 Wedding and Portrait Photographer International (WPPI) convention. Julia Newman and Punam Bean, two amazing photographers, and more importantly good friends of mine took the trip with me. We took our time.. stopping constantly to photograph the amazing landscape. Everyday was spent in a completely different climate.. it was incredible. See below for some images from our journey.

our journey..

Black Sand Beaches in Northern California

They look so serious, don't they?

We found this nook in the Redwoods..

massive clovers.. leprechauns were gonna come out at any moment

Punam taking a nap in the clovers

Lake Tahoe.. caught these two shots from the car. I can't wait to go back and spend some time there.

Death Valley

Can you believe that sky?! yeah.. we don't have skies like that in NYC :-)

Death Valley Junction, a ghost town.. sorta.
